Congratulations for aspiring to be a part of the All India Service concerned with ecocentric development rather than Human centric development.
Indian Forest Service is one of the three All India Services created in 1966 under the AIS Act 1951 which was in existence during the British Raj from 1865 to 1935.
The mandate of the service is scientific management of forests, conservation, protection and development of forests and wildlife along with the aim of enhancing livelihood opportunities of forest dependent communities.
